Despite their magnificent efforts in the semi final against All Saints, St Brigid’s ladies will not be allowed to take their place in the Junior final at Casement Park on Thursday night. The Antrim Ladies County Board has decided that an adminstrative error means that the St Brigid’s girls cannot compete.
St Brigid’s offerd to replay their game against All Saints, but alas the Ballymena team availed of the opportunity to go straight to the final.
A bitter pill, the team that has come in from the committee room door has a second chance.
What this will do for development of the ladies game, It will certainly leave a bitter taste with the young St. Brigid’s girls who did nothing wrong, but the rule book seems to be more important than sport.

The ladies will have to regroup and any future administrative loop hole will need to be closed. The Ladies will have to redouble their efforts and plan for next season.

Thanks to all of the girls for their efforts.

Mol an Óige!
