The past two weeks have been quite eventful for the u10 football squad.
On Saturday the 7th June the team participated in the prestigious Newry Mitchell’s tournament – one of 38 teams encompassing clubs from counties Derry to Dublin. The team performed heroics throughout the day with an unbeaten run and reaching the final of the main “plate” competition, only to loose by a narrow 2 points after an epic struggle with Lucan Sarsfields from Dublin.
The following Saturday (14th June) the team again took to the field in the Carryduff tournament. This time the team went all the way in the 12 team competition, securing the cup with a final three point victory over Errigal Ciaran from Tyrone.
Congratulations to the U10 players and their mentors on a fantastic two weeks and for putting the narrow defeats in the previous two finals to come out on top in Carryduff
