In a very high tempo game at Cargin, St. Brigid’s lost by a single point in a pulsating game at Toome on Saturday last, however it was the first time the Club’s division 5 team played against a division 4 team and it showed that with a little more composure in front of goals, the biddies would be through to the semi-final stages of the competition. However, the first half goal chances and a real sitter going a-begging in the final moments were the defining moments of the match. St. Brigid’s for the most part, more than matched the Loughshore boys.
Great displays from Duncan McAuley and Man-of-the-Match Ryan Brolly gave the Malone Road boy’s every chance in this classic encounter. 17 year old Michael Malone aquitted himself well and looked well up to the speed of championship football and was another bonus for the St Brigid’s youth policy.
