There is a big drive underway to raise the £6000+ that it costs to take our successful U14 Ladies squad to Feile in Sligo on 27th-29th June, where they will represent St Brigid’s and Antrim in Division 3 of the new format Feile Peil na nOg for 2014.
The success that the ladies have had is in no short measure to the support that they get from mentors and parents but we need to make sure that everyone in the club gets behind them and helps to raise funds for the trip.
A number of events are planned to ‘fill the coffers’ including:
– A ballot draw which offers prizes of concert tickets for Michael Buble & Garth Brooks, hotel and caravan breaks, restaurant and bar vouchers, Down Royal ‘Punter Packs’, a ladies hamper pack and many more super prizes. Tickets for these will be available to coaches and mentors in the next week and we would encourage you to promote them to parents and kids.
– Coffee Morning in St Brigid’s Parish Hall on June 22nd after morning masses, with tea, coffee and home made tray bakes. This event was a big success last year and will incorporate the ballot draw.
– Sponsored Bag Pack in Iceland at the Kennedy Centre on June 14th.
– Sponsored ‘Spinathon Cycle’ at the Kennedy Centre on June 14th, where the girls will aim to clock up 250 miles, equivalent to the return journey to Sligo where they are being hosted at Feile this year.
– Car wash at Harlequins Rugby Club on Fun Sunday..TBC
– ‘Cash Drop’ buckets at Fun Sunday.
We will try to manage a few more fundraising ideas and if you want to help us or have any ideas of your own, let Philip (07967977630) or Ronan (07714676686) know.
Remember…This is St Brigid’s at Feile and we represent everyone in the club and county, so please, please, please, help us reach our goal!
Thanks for all your hard work, and let’s see if we can take our girls to the next level this year! Go St Brigid’s!
