In memory of Peter Turley, Saval GAC, formerly also Queen’s GAA, his former teammates have asked that the following message is posted on GAA websites:
“Recent events would indicate that mental health issues are prevalent in GAA clubs across the land. Unfortunately these problems have a stigma attached, which results in, all too often young people, and especially young men, feeling they cannot seek help for fear of what might be thought of them. That needs to change. It is normal not to feel okay. If you do not feel okay speak to someone. If it is too hard to speak to family or friends then call PIPS 02890805850, Samaritans 116 123, Lifeline 08088088000 or talk to your doctor. The most important thing is that you talk to someone. #MindYourHead”
St Brigid’s GAC is committed to caring for the mental health of our members as well as the physical health. We pay tribute to Peter. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
