St Congalls Antrim 0.4 Saint Brigid’s II 3.14
St Brigid’s reserves put another excellent performance to defeat Antrim in Antrim in excellent conditions for football.
Mel MacSherry led the scoring with eight points, equally split between placed balls and from play.
This game was pretty much sewn up by half time as goals from Jimmy King, Niall McDonald and the evergreen Eunan Conway. Conway now in his third decade playing senior football followed Greg Moris’s fisted effort into the box and as it rebounded off the bar Conway’s shins were first to react and the ball rebounded to the net.
Mick Malone was steadfast in goals and made two excellent interceptions in the first period.
The defence was well marshalled by the excellent Chris Tanney and Paul Finnegan. The Naomh Brid men are misery at the back where Mark Kelly, John McKeever, Brian Loughran and Richard Walsh kept the home team to a single point in the first half.

Niall McDonald retired with injury at half time to be replaced by Andrew Kelly. Chris Quinn continued to torture Antrim from full forward, and he finished the game with five excellent points from play, despite the best of attention from the Antrim full back.
Brian Loughran managed a fine fisted effort and Jimmy King hit the cross bar from close range. Andrew Brennan played well at centre half forward as the Mackle twins Ryan and Ciaran did well when introduced after the break.
Liam Duggan made his debut in the second half and although Antrim added three further points Naomh Brid made it three wins from three.
