Goals in each half, the first from Niall McDonald and the second from Conor Mullan made the difference in this entertaining game at Cherryvale. Added to that were a string of points from play and frees from Frankie Devlin plus a couple from the effective Ruari O’Neill. It was the defenders who were most impressive however, with Frank O’Neill and Joe McKeever working tirelessly while Richard Smyth dominated several opponents who tried their luck on the edge of the square. Paddy McDonald showed some good form as a replacement while Deaghlan O’Hagan pulled the strings up front.
