Ronan McSherry (Tyrone Herald), 2011 CIPR Coca Cola Press Awards Columnist of the Year Book Launch:

“This is a new category in the prestigious annual media awards and attracted the highest number of entries, but it was Ronan’s column ‘Ronan’s Rant’ which impressed the judges. To take the accolade Ronan beat off stiff competition from three other finalists: Gail Henderson, Sunday Life Gail Walker, Belfast Telegraph and Maeve Connolly, from The Irish News.
In choosing Ronan as the columnist of the year, the judges said, “This winner, as well as being funny and provocative, is able to weave the small details of life in Tyrone, into the bigger national and international issues of the day.”
