In the Ladies Junior Championship played against St Galls onTuesday night, the 1st have slipped by whilst the Naomh Brid girls were still thinking they were lying on a beach somewhere hot. The Milltown ladies started off like an express train and soon were 2 goals to the good. With their goal keeper in top form, naomh brid were getting very little return from the few attacks they were able to muster.
Having reach the half way stage and 14 pts down, many of the enthuastic supporters were thinking ‘ well a few score would at least save a bit of face’.
But this young time is a bit special. determination and the will not to be beaten turned the second half into one of the most exciting and free scoring games seen for quite a while. A couple of points set our girls on their way, only to be rocked again by a brace of St Galls goals. With 18 minutes remaining and staring at the wrong side of 16 points, Naomh Brid finally clicked and goals and points came with nearly every atack. a second have tally of 7 goals and 5 points saw our girls go through to next Tuesdays semi final on a final score line of:
Naomh Brid 9:8 St Galls 9:6
