The U-16s won their first game of the season against Clann Eireann of Lurgan on Sunday despite being short some key players. We played uphill on a heavy pitch at St Michaels school in the first half and struggled to come to terms with a much bigger team who used the conditions and their home advantage to lead at half time. In the second half things turned around and with the defence getting on top, midfield winning some good ball and the forwards taking their scores we ran out winners 3-13 to 3-7.
As a first game this was an excellent run out with some good performances but also plenty to work on in the weeks ahead before the league starts.
