There was agony for the gallant senior ladies at a sodden Casement Park on Saturday evening as they lost out by the minimum to St Gall’s in an enthralling Intermediate Championship Football Final. The team gave absolutely everything as they more than matched the Milltown favourites in terms of skill, grit and possession. Unfortunately they left their scoring boots behind on the day, which ultimately proved their undoing. St Gall’s made the better of their opportunities and, despite a late Naomh Brid converted penalty, they narrowly held out for the victory. Well done to the entire Naomh Brid squad and management who did the club proud with their achievement. Next year we will be back to conclude unfinished business.
