There was disappointment for the band of Naomh Brid faithful present as darkness descended at Musgrave Park on Wednesday evening when St John’s stole two league points at the death. But the important business lies ahead on Saturday week, when we meet Portglenone in the first of the SFC semi-finals.  And there should be no doubt of the serious challenge that lies ahead in light of Portglenone’s stunning four point win over league leaders Cargin this evening.  With the advantage of having a Creggan venue the Ports, who have recent experience of championship finals, will be widely fancied to carry the day. At the bottom of the league Glenavy boosted their survival chances with a vital home win over fellow strugglers Rasharkin.  St Paul’s remain stuck in the danger zone after losing out to championship favourites St Gall’s.
