On Tuesday evening the U16 girls returned to the league following the exam break with an encouraging win against a talented St John’s side.
Even though Naomh Bríd dominated most of the possession in the first period a combination of taking the wrong option in the final quarter along with poor shooting coupled with some clinical finishing by St John’s in front of goals left our girls with a slender 2 point lead at the interval.
Both teams traded scores until the end of the third quarter before St Brigid’s put the game beyond doubt with a series of well executed scores.
Many thanks to Barry Hotchkiss for refereeing the match, as he allowed the game to flow without any fuss.
Final score: Naomh Bríd 6 – 18 Naomh Eóin 4 – 06
