With the sun shining over Musgrave on Friday evening our ladies Minors got back to league business after several weeks’ break as we hosted a spirited and determined Lámh Dhearg on a perfect night for football.

With our ranks boosted by a number of talented 16’s, there was a ‘zip’ about the team that hasn’t been seen in a while and it paid dividends as we ran out comfortable winners and held onto top spot in the league.

Some sublime passages of play led to a number of crisp scores, and apart from a five minute spell near the end of the game where our concentration slipped, the entire squad worked tirelessly for each other and got the job done.

Next Friday we are away to St Enda’s and hopefully we can maintain the high standard of play that was on display tonight to keep our season rolling forward.

Final score was 7-16 v 1-7 and with both teams showing respect and discipline, it made it an easy game to martial for referee Meabh Harvey. Our thanks go to her and also to Lámh Dhearg players and their management for a great match. NBA!
