Report by the ever-reliable Philip Doyle.

A hard fought win away to Naomh Séamas in Crumlin on Sunday night was just what our senior ladies needed after last week’s comprehensive home defeat to St Paul’s. Our girls started brightly with 2 quick fire goals and 2 points but were pegged back consistently throughout the course of the game by a young and hungry Aldergrove squad brimming with county talent. Several excellent points from the Aldergrove forward line threatened to derail St Brigid’s night but our girls stuck to the task and with some crisp passing, tenacious defending and clinical finishing, kept their noses in front until, the final whistle. Rebecca (Doyle)’s well-taken goal on the run was the pick of some fine scores (I’m biased of course!) and a big shout out goes to the entire squad for an excellent battling performance.

Thanks to John Jones and his Aldergrove squad for an entertaining and enjoyable game.
