It has been quite the couple of weeks for St Brigid’s Maeve Blaney.
Just days after playing in an Ulster Schools side that claimed victory in the inter-provincial competition, she has been named as captain of the Antrim Minor Ladies’ footballers after her team-mates nominated her to the role. Maeve deserves huge praise and is a shining example to any younger (or older!) players at the club. With six St Brigid’s girls featuring in Antrim’s recent victory over Derry, the club is strongly represented at the Minor grade, and credit must go to the players’ families and coaches as well as the players themselves for all their efforts.
