DUNSILLY CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE OPENING

Our Bríd Óg P6/5 team has been invited to a special Go Games blitz at Dunsilly to mark the opening of the new Antrim Centre of Excellence.
Players registered on Teamer will have received a Teamer about this. If you have a child in P6 or P5 and didn’t get a notification, contact Ciaran at ciaran@thegrant.org.uk  and he will add them to the squad.
The Tournament starts at 10am but we need to be there for 9.30am sharp, for registration. There are specific parking arrangements, so please ensure you have received these before travel. If lifts are needed, meet at Musgrave Park at 9am.
If anyone is due to play in the football Go Games that are also part of this event, please note that hurling will be played first and will be over before football starts.

Tournament and Game Reports

Our Bríd Óg P3/P4 team played in the Hurling/Camogie Go Games blitz at Cliftonville on Saturday morning. They came away with two wins and the draw, not that anybody was counting the scores !

There were some great skills on display, with long-range poc outs, strikes on goal, jab lifting and airborne striking all to be seen.

Well done to Anna, Ben, Cathal, Daire, Georgia, Matthew, Méabh, Nicholas, Patrick, Ríonach and Ruairi H.

Bríd Óg v St Endas at Cliftonville 8 10 2016

The Bríd Óg P6/P7 squad played later in the afternoon, in a Go Game against St Enda’s. There had been two successful encounters against the same opposition, the previous weekend in the Moneyglass tournament but not so, despite the boys’ best efforts, on this occasion. This was a skills game with points being awarded, for fielding, in addition to the ordinary scores. Hand passes had to travel at least 3 yards before they were counted as a score. This was a good learning experience for our team in a game which was handled by a young Whistler, who ensured that infringements were properly addressed.

The Bríd Óg team performed well but found difficulty getting past a very agile St Enda’s goalkeeper. Nonetheless, there was some great play on show again, from both sides, with St Enda’s coming out on top.
