The U16 Boys captured the All county Football Championship last Sunday 2nd Oct at the new Antrim Training Centre at Dunsilly.
Having captured the South Antrim title a couple of weeks ago, the lads were up against the SW Antrim winners Cargin.
A tight first half playing against a strong wind, finished with the lads going in a point down 0-3: 0-4. However in the second playing the lads upped their game and posted 3-5 to take control of the game.
A brief period of Cargin pressure towards the end of the game, where they grabbed a goal, wasn’t enough for the SW lads, and St Brigids were duely crowded champions.
Our thanks to Cargin for a tough game, played in the correct spirit, to the referee and all his officials, and to Antrim County board for the use of the Dunsilly venue.
Our lads go on to compete against the other U16 champions from Ulster in the Paul McGirr tournament later in the month.
