Another first for Naomh Bríd
Another historic moment in the history of Naomh Bríd GAC on Saturday 19th as the club fielded its first ever U8 girls team for a blitz in Musgrave Park.
Méabh and Ríonach worked both ends of the pitch in the first game against Gort na Móna, while Katie patrolled the midfield.
A very closely fought match saw Gort na Móna take the first half, but Naomh Bríd came back in the second to finish level.
In the second match, some brilliant goalkeeping by Meadoe kept a well organized St John’s within reach. Polly worked her socks off in defence and though Naomh Bríd took the final score of the game , St John’s held on by two.
In the final match against Naomh Éanna, well take early goals by Mary-Angela and Aoife , as well as great forward play by Ashling saw the team pull ahead and they never looked back.
A bright future ahead for this U8 Naomh Bríd squad.
