Following the disappointment of our Under 14’s exit from Feile in the morning, Musgrave witnessed a confident start to the season as our Senior Ladies kicked off their league campaign against St Gall’s in some style posting a 8-12 v 3-6 victory. Although it took a little time to blow away the closed season cobwebs, by the time the first quarter of the game was done, St Brigid’s had posted several fine scores and were on their way to a strong win. Slick midfield passing and some fine finishing from Katherine Mullan and Abby Carlton ensured that even when the girls from Milltown rallied in the second half, there was too much for their backs to contain.

St Brigid’s only fielded one substitute and with several players still to come back into the squad, it’s early days, but the new look team has given Manager Barry Mulligan plenty to think about as he seeks to settle on his starting fifteen. A bye weekend ahead, and then it’s off to Moneyglass to see if they can maintain their good start.
