u10 N Antrim finalsN Antrim League – Division 3 final
Venue: Seven Towers Leisure Centre, Ballymena
Date: 31st Jan 2015
Thank you to Gavin for compiling the report
The U10s travelled to Ballymena to face Dunloy in the Section 3 final of the
prestigious North Antrim indoor hurling league. They had beaten their
opponents, Dunloy, the previous week, but the kids were reminded that this
was a new game and they needed to give 100% from the first whistle. And they
responded brilliantly. The Ógs took control from the throw in and in their
first attack Pearse scored a goal. He followed it up with another couple of
goals and early into the match the game already looked like it was beyond
the Cuchullains. By half-time it was 5-0 to Brid Óg. Pearse was moved into
goals and our younger players got a good run out in the second half. It
didn’t stop the Ógs adding to their tally and at the final whistle Brid Óg
were winners by eight goals to zero. David with 2 goals, Liam and Jack had
joined Pearse on the scoresheet.

So, after a couple of previous final defeats, Brid Óg have finally won a
North Antrim league trophy. The team had to wait and watch a couple of
keenly contested matches before being presented with their trophies along
with the other winners on the day. Congratulations to all the kids who have
hurled superbly over the last three weekends. It has to be pointed out that
they did not concede a goal in any of their matches throughout the group
games and the final. And well done to all the mentors involved. The work put
in at training was borne out in the game, which was great to see. It was a
great start to the 2015 hurling season and hopefully more success will
follow in the remaining months of the year.

Brid Óg: Jack, Zack, Owen, Pearse, James, Conor, Liam, David.
