Our Under 14 Ladies delivered a fluid and confident performance tonight with comprehensive win in our friendly against Colin Gaels at the Twinbrook Activity Centre. Our hosts put up a physical challenge for St Brigid’s but slick passing and strong finishing from our well drilled squad made sure that as a competition, the game was over early. This allowed some of our younger and less experienced girls to get a run out, and all of them gave 100%.

The match allowed the coaching team to finalise their squad of 10 girls for Saturday’s Kilmacud 7’s in Dublin and was a good workout for the team as we head towards the back end of the season. With a couple of league games and the Culbert Brennan Cup at St Gall’s fast approaching, we need to maintain our fitness.

Sadly, despite tonight’s match being billed as an U14/16’s match, there were NO U16’s in attendance which is at best disappointing, and at worst, unacceptable! The start of this season brought promises of commitment from our 16’s squad but it is questionable where this commitment has gone?

As for the girls tonight, commitment was there in bucket loads and we would have confidence that those moving up at New Year from 14 to 16 will give their all for the club!

Thank you to the parents for your help with lifts tonight and thanks again to Coach Dessie and the girls at Colin Gaels for a great game.
