Good luck to the Antrim U16 Ladies who face Clare in the All-Ireland Semi-final in Blanchardstown tomorrow at 2pm. Particular praise goes to Caoimhe Callaghan from our own St Brigid’s who will be “minding the sticks” for The Saffrons tomorrow.
In the last few years of my involvement in the u12/14/16 club setup, I cannot think of a more talented and dedicated player who consistently attends for training and games, despite having had a significant injury which cost her most of a year on the sideline! If we were playing in a pro sport, Caoimhe would be on the radar of every club with money to spend. She is a credit to her family and club, but more so herself and when I need an example of dedication for our younger (and sometimes older!) girls, her name is first out the hat.
Whatever tomorrow’s result, the Antrim U16s will know that they have the best young shot stopper available to them in our Caoimhe…..Aontrim Abu!
