Summer break can’t come quick enough for some of our U14 girls as the spark fails to appear for a second week in a row as they suffer another rout at the hands of a rampant St Pauls. It was Deja Vu as the visitors capitalised with 17 scores in the first half compared to five attempts from our forward line!

The second half brought wholesale substitutions from St Brigid’s and the occasional burst of enthusiasm from the midfield but again, we were second to every ball and squandered the chances we had. Make no mistakes, this St Paul’s team is a serious force this year, but too many times our girls have let them dictate the game and have seemed shocked when they are on the receiving end of a beating.

Whether it’s pending Feile on their minds or simply the need to raise the bar at training, the team which were like lions against Moneyglass a few weeks ago have turned into pussycats on the park. They have the ability to raise their game but they need to be willing to apply themselves at training and on the park before every other team in the league get the scent of blood.

It’s over to you girls!
