The u12 Div 1 squad completed its first round of league games this weekend with comprehensive wins over Lamh Dearg and Gortnamona. At the half-way stage in the league our boys have set an impressive pace winning all 7 games.

At Hannahstown on Friday night we were comfortable winners against a young Lamh Dearg team. Ronan Agnew, Conan McNicholl and Donal Bradley were among the first half scorers however it is an impressive defensive unit which has been a key feature of this promising season. Reuben Carleton, Joe McCarney and Ronan Boyle gave up very few scoring opportunities to the home team. In the second half Oisin McDonnell and James Turkington added excellent long-range points to round off a big win. Final score Lamh Dearg 0-2, Naomh Brid 10-14

A tougher game was expected on Sunday morning against 3rd placed Gortnamona. Played in perfect conditions at Musgrave, the lads dominated from start to finish. In the first half we raced into an early lead with goals from Ronan Agnew and Donal Bradley. Half forwards Rory Moore and Marcus Lynch shared 6 points from play, but the driving force for this victory was the half back line in which Cathal Maguire, Harry O’Connor and Ollie Marken were dominant. Lorcan Burns and Ronan Boyle added late points to leave the final score: Naomh Brid 4-10; Gortnamona 0-3.

Good luck to all the p7 players from the u12 squad who are playing for St Brides on Wednesday 4th June in the Raffo Cup Belfast Schools Final at Mary Peters Arena (3.00pm).
