U10 Munster Team Battle Elements and Strong St Enda’s Side to Record Second Straight Win of Season
For the second week in a row the platform for victory was built on a strong start to the match. Donal Hanna led the midfield well from the off, keeping up his impressive start to the season. He worked well with James Kilpatrick who worked hard from the first to the final whistle. Solid scoring from Niall Finnegan rewarded that midfield effort.
The second quarter again repeated last week with the strong wind and substitutions affected the momentum. Adam Murphy’s return outfield was also paying dividends, both in his ability to develop possession and also ensuring St Endas had to work hard to get the ball up to their midfield. Matthew Mc Cann was also showing his promise in midfield in tracking his marker well and gathering possession.
Shane Murphy and Pierce Finegan were at the heart of the defence working well as a team in tackling hard and winning possession, with their distribution being clever, helping the midfield in the tricky conditions.
Ronan Mc Keown had shown his industry through out the match and it was a blow to the midfield when he had to be replaced late into the match with injuries sustained after a trip when he was breaking with the ball. Conor was able to help, linking well midfield and attack. Other Twin Ronan Mc Fadden also helped during this vital period in the match, closing down really well, tackling hard with controlled aggression.
Further scores from Niall Finnegan helped to stretch the gap and see victory being secured. A tricky tie especially with the wind playing havoc with the play at times, making scoring tricky.
