Sunday 2nd Sept saw the 4th annual St Brigid’s Under 10 tournament take place at Harlequins. There were sixteen teams participating, three St Brigids teams and thirteen visiting teams from Antrim, Down and Armagh. On the day over 250 boys and girls took part in a very enjoyable day of football at the south Belfast venue.

The format of the competition based on the “Go Games” rules, was ran on a league basis with each club getting to play six matches.

2012 proved very exciting with St Brigid’s taking honours in Division 1 (Paddy Flannigan Cup) and Division 4. Clan Eireann (Co Armagh) were winners of Division 2 and local South Belfast club O’Donovan Rossa winners of Division 3.

There was a great level of football skills on show throughout the day and all teams should be very proud of their efforts. St Brigid’s wish to thank all participating teams plus the supporting parents and team mentors. The football was played in great spirit and congratulations go to all teams who took part.

Thanks also to the club members who helped out on the day, events like this could not go ahead with without the support of the club members.
