The under 18’s fielded without two county minors and key forwards Gildea and Flanagan and this lack of scoring prowess cost them dear as they lost to a south Antrim St Teresa’s side that are topping the Belfast divisional minor league.

Down three points at the break the early concession of 1-3 in the first five minutes after the restart left a mountain to climb. Despite this the Malone boys were to squander chances going for goals when points on the board would have been a good return. The final score saw a two point losing margin and despite the tricky wind conditions, a good game was enjoyed by both teams.

Sean McKernan at left half back was sheer quality once more and the experience of Mackle and Mooney who play on the successful Div 4 team showed.
Jack McGrath again showed his defensive abiltiy at corner back and the return of Mark Gribben was a welcome boost. Up front Conway, Mooney, Keenan and Lavery all did well, but Finegan and Mooney were the pick of the attack on the day.
