The u12 Division 2 squad claimed victory against the visiting team from McDermotts on a sunny Friday evening at Deramore Park.

After last week’s comprehensive defeat at the hands of the physically much stronger St Teresa’s, the team performed much better against the visiting boys and girls from McDermotts.

While dominating the early exchanges, the lads from St Brigids failed to turn possession into scores with a litany of poor finishing. McDermotts came back into the game during the second period, registering two goals to set up a tense final period.

However, during the third and final period St Brigids managed to register two major scores and a number of points to finish up winners on a score line of 3:8 to 2:4.

Well done to both teams and, especially McDermotts as this was the first time in 15 years they have entered at team at this level.

League action continues this incoming week with a Division 1 game against St Pauls on Wednesday 4th May at Deramore Park. On Friday 6th both teams are away with a Division 1 game against St Johns at Corrigan and Division 2 against Pearses at Cliftonville Road.
