For the first time in living memory the Naomh Brid girls defeated St Pauls in the opening game of the U16 league campaign. The St Brigids girls with a team boasting 10 of last year’s successful u14 team played out a very competitive and challenging game this evening at Boucher Road. The south Belfast girls turned at half time 1 point up and in many respects lucky that St Pauls had left their shooting boots back at Shaws Road.

The 2nd half was a completely different story and just some old fashioned grit and determination saw our girls come out on top on a scoreline of 2:10 to 2:6. Mention must also go to a very young and spirted St Pauls side that pushed St Brigids right to the very end.
