On what turned out to be a beautiful autumnal evening and following the ‘monsoon’ that raged all through Monday, 25 St Brigids u14 girls and their many supporters amassed at Musgrave Park for their eagerly awaited quarter final tie with St Pauls.

The girls having spent many weeks and having played a number of challenge games in preparation for this match could not hide their bitter disappointment when they were informed that the championship series had been postponed.

We have been informed that the postponement was necessary because the County Board had no official referees available to cover the games. It looks like the re-scheduled games will now take place at the end of September just in time for the evening darkness and drop in temperature.

All the u14 girls wish good luck to the u16 boys in their Championship final on Thursday 16th at Casement.
