The South Antrim charges of Paul McIntyre and Greg Morris won their second game in a row with a one point victory over St Pauls at Shaws Road on Thursday night.
Great individual performances from Brendan Corrigan, Owen Diamond in defence with Kevin Gallagher ruling the roost in midfield. The team missed chance after chance in the first half but went in 1-3 to 2 pts leaders at the break.
Goal chances went a begging in the second half but Tommy O’Neill pointed and Conor Mackle held his nerve to score from a 40 yard free to win the game as the hosts staged a spirited comeback to leave a one point margin in it at the end.
Best for the Malone boys was fiesty Kevin Gallagher with Barney Conway having a steadying influence in the centre. A good team performance from all panel players however ensured that the thirds can look forward to taking part in the all county reserve championship at the end of august against the intermediate reserve clubs on an all county basis.
