The Div 4 team defeated top of the table St John’s in a league encounter at the splendid Musgrave venue on Sunday. Niall MacDonald played a starring role at centre half forward winning posession in the centre field area. The full back line, well marshalled by Ciaran Mackle, Joe McKeever and Eddy Smyth, all did exceptionally well keeping their men under control. with a three point margin to the hosts at the break. All was to play for and it was incisive running from Ben Synott who slotted over from play that helped to steady the ship for the Malone road men in the last quarter with a coolly taken goal from Colly Connolly sealing the game for the Naomh Brid boys.

This was an excellent team performance with everybody playing their part, the eventual ten point winning margin was aided by some great fielding from Ben kelly
and a solid performance from centre half back Nikki Murphy. Competition for places on the Division 4 side will be tough for the three games coming up in the near future.

The final score of 2:12 to 0:8 was fair reflection of the the match as in the final quarter the reintroduction of James king helped to keep the scoreboard ticking over.
