A nailbiting finish in a thrilling encounter at Milltown saw St Brigid’s young ladies come back from the dead to score four unanswered points in the final five minutes to earn a well deserved draw against strong favourites St Gall’s.
The senior players on the St Brigid’s team led their younger team mates by example with a very determined display and Aoife Mc Cann just shaded the player of the match award from Ellen McGrath who has been in outstanding form all summer. They have formed a formidable midfield partnership and they needed to be at their best to combat the St Gall’s midfield pairing.
Both sides will rue missed chances with St Brigid’s hitting the cross bar twice. Next week’s replay promises another thrilling match.
