U 14 Hurling St Brigid’s GAC 2-9 St Agnes 1-2 26 June 08 A steadfast performance by St Brigid’s U14 Hurlers put pay to St Agnes challenge. This has lead to their third consecutive victory beating both St Theresa’s and Pearse’s by significant margins in previous weeks. A reluctant captain Jack Cassidy took up the mantle of goalkeeping with the absence of Dermot Meminiun. Jack together with full backs Gerard Henvey and Niall Boylan kept a confident St Agnes at bay, leaking only two point during the first half. At half back our most improved and dedicated player Cahill Conway together with Jonathan Dillon were tenacious in their tackle to allow a constant supply of sliothar to our midfield pair Conal Kelly & James Guildea. Consistence Conal & James won the midfield battle enabling top scorer and free taker centre half, Feargal Leyden to lead the way to victory. Diligent Fintan McBride and indefatigable Hugh Murphy worked tireless at half forwards to keep the pressure on St Agnes. Upfront Daniel Mulligan Conor McKeague and Conor Leonard kept the sliothar in play in the net and over the bar. The half time score was 1-4 to 0-2. At this stage Henvey went into goals Jack took up midfield and Guildea went to fullback Well done all. PS Our powerful half back/forward Garrett Mulholland went missing believed some where in Donegal at the Gaelteach.
