Our senior hurlers were beaten by Larne on friday 1 August in the Junior Hurling Championship the first time the club has fielded in this competition at Harlequins at 7:30. The Scoreline of 2:10 to 1:7 does not reflect how close the Malone men came to upsetting the odds. A little more composure from Paul Brady in front of goals and a little luck when the ball hit the inside of the post to land in the keepers hands and Justin McCormick’s men would have came away with an historic victory. Man of the match was Darren Horrisk at full back for the boys in blue, goalkeeper Micky kennedy puck outs were the launch pad for several attacks
and Adrian McElatton and Collie Connolly were solid performers on the night.
