Chris Donnelly may have been slow out of the blocks on Sunday night last but his two goal contribution more than made up for the hesitant start when the Methodist
College student hit the net twice.

In a tight first half the scores were hard to come by at first but a ten minute burst of points from Naomh Brid in the middle of the first half left O’Donnell’s with a battle on their hands playing into the breeze after the break.

Half Time Naomh Brid 1:4 O’Donnells 0:4

With Brendan MacDonald at full back and Mark Kelly on the wing, and half time sub
Ben Sinnott on top at the back, the visitors to Deramore found scores at a premium.

In midfield the power of Patrick MacDonald and Niall Cunningham was a launch pad
for a lively attack where Chris McCann and John McGuckian played a vital role in keeping the score board ticking over. A soft goal against the run of play maintained
interest in the contest but with a strong bench, the home side were able to deploy reserves to add fresh impetus to a well deserved team performance.

Next up is the formidable task on Wednesday night of Cargin 2’s in the Reserve Championship at Toome.
