The U12s turned in a superb performance in defeating a resilient Lamh Dhearg side by eight points in this O’Donnell Cup quarter final tie at Hannahstown on Friday evening. Their attitude and commitment could not be faulted as their tenacity matched the spirit of the championship. Lamh Dhearg would have barely recognised the team that they had beaten in a pre season friendly, as the St Brigid’s players attacked the ball as though their lives depended on it. Playing up the hill in the first half, St Brigid’s had opened up an eight-point gap by the interval, a lead which they never looked like losing. While Lamh Dhearg battled bravely to end, there was no way back and St Brigid’s will now look forward to another high stakes match, with the semi finals scheduled for Friday, 23 May.

Final score: Lamh Dhearg 3-2 St Brigid’s 3-10

Team: C Moran, C Lynch, F McKernan, M Cummins, S Moran, N Lundy, E Maguire, D Mooney, P O’Sullivan, A Lavery, P Morgan, P O’Boyle,K McAllister, K McGovern, S Boyle
