The senior hurlers played their first home fixture against Sarsfields and got a rude awakening to the demands and ferocity of senior hurling. At half time the game was close with the score at 2:6 to 0:4 in favour of Sarsfields, two soft goals having been conceded due to an inability to clear the defensive lines.

The second half saw a determined Sarsfields gain the upper hand in the middle third of the pitch, which saw them secure breaking ball possession time after time. As such they were constantly camped in St. Brigid’s defence and pulled away to record a comprehensive win.

St. Brigid’s players’ eyes were opened and now appreciate the level they are playing at. Next match –v- Larne away.
