The U12s turned in a battling performance to edge Rossa by three points in a rousing encounter at the YMCA on Friday evening. Playing against the breeze in the first half St Brigid’s could count themselves unlucky to trail by four points at the interval, having enjoyed good possession. However, the Rossa midfielders were proving hard to handle and their mazy runs had led to two goals which secured the half time advantage for the away side.

St Brigid’s dominated the second period and kept their nerve to reduce the deficit and eventually overhaul Rossa in an exciting finish. This was a spirited and skillful display, in what was a physical but sporting match, and augers well for the league and championship campaign. Next Friday sees the boys travel to Milltown to take on St Gall’s.
