The look of sheer delight from veteran clubman and manager Noel McGuckian spoke
volumes for the performance of an “on paper” inexperienced Div 5 team. The display in their first challenge of the season against South Derry Div 1B senior reserve side Magherafelt O’Donovan Rossa was a credit to their collective work ethic and fitness.

Coming out on top by a one point margin against a side that had five or six first team regulars augurs well for the incoming season.
The break from training that Stephen Morrissey has taken has aided the keeper’s performance.
in fact this was a trait most of his team mates have been following suit on.The best example being Chris Rodgers, making a timely return for the first time in thirty six months, who rolled back the years with steady hands on the game at centre half forward. Chris has been taking the rest from training a little too much too heart.
Darren Horrisk at midfield was terrific and was ably assisted by the Kelly brothers, Andrew, Mark and Matthew, and the Mackle twins, goal scorer Ryan and
Ciaran. Score of the day came from one of the Smyth brothers, Richard, who was eventually replaced by Eddie at the break.

Oh brother what a performance.
