The U12s will enjoy home advantage against a strong St Enda’s side in their opening Div 1 fixture on Friday, 11 April. Each of the three divisions in South Antrim this year will comprise six clubs, each playing home and away (making 10 games in all). St Brigid’s are joined by St John’s, St Gall’s, St Enda’s, Rossa and Davitt’s in the top flight. The full list of matches is under Fixtures, with the Championship draw to follow.

In their penultimate challenge game before the league commences St Brigid’s lost out to neighbours Bredagh in an entertaining and sporting contest. While Bredagh were deserving winners, the home squad, which was minus a number of players, battled all the way and will reflect on a host of scorned opportunities that could have altered the outcome. What was the old addage? “Take your points and the goals will come.”

Final Score: St Brigid’s 2-1 Bredagh 1-8

Next up on Sunday, 6 April: St Brigid’s vs Davitt’s. Meet at the YMCA at 10.00am.
