U10s shine in Jack McCartan Cup

St Brigid’s U10s finished the season in some style at Shaw’s Road on Saturday last when they took part in St Paul’s annual Jack McCartan U10 tournament. The boys beat a highly fancied Lamh Dhearg team, as well as O’Donnells, to emerge as group winners to meet Gort na Mona in the semi final of the cup. Another excellent performance saw St Brigid’s overcome Gort na Mona and reach the final. The boys eventually lost to a very well organised and disciplined St John’s team. However, to reach the final of the “A” competition in their last competitive outing was a tremendous achievement and reflected the real potential in this squad of players.
