On Friday night last St Brigid’s travelled to Lawrencetown to play the Div 3 league leaders in Down. This proved a useful challenge match for the Antrim Div 5 team ahead of their Reserve championship match fixed for next Saturday at St Gall’s.
The final score was Tullylish 14 points to St Brigid’s 7 points. The second half was played under floodlights and with guest reserve players James Loughrey and Dara Edwards, featured a better performance which was not reflected in the final score.
In the first half Tullylish dominated scoring chances but went in only seven points to four in the lead. In the second period the hosts were a lot more economical with the chances presented on a more limited supply of ball.
Highlights of the match were:
Michael Malone with a superb goalkeeping display.
A solid performance at full back by Aidan Christie.
Keelan McCrudden workmanlike display at half forward.
And two fine points from play from the enigmatic Rory O’Neill.
