On a blustery but fine evening, the St Brigid’s B team visited na Fuiseoige in Twinbrook. As in many previous games their numbers were depleted by competing commitments but the 13 players who turned up were undaunted. They were helped by two fine home team players – a sporting gesture on the part of the hosts. Playing against a strong wind in the first half, things looked worrying for a while but just before half time Patrick O’Boyle scored two goals to leave just one point in it at the changeover. (1-5 to 2-1). In the second half with the wind at their backs, Naomh Brid got the upper hand. Fine performances by Niall Lundy, Caolan Lynch, Shane Boyle, Kealan McAllister and Cormac Devlin made for a much more solid team performance and the South Belfast boys survived a few late scares to come away with a solid win. Both teams and mentors approached the game in a fine spirit and all players will have learned a lot about the tactics of playing with and against a strong wind.

Final score Naomh Brid 4-5 na Fuiseoige 3-5
