Naomh Brid reserves lost their unbeaten record in the 2007 campaign against a strong St Galls III’s outfit. Indeed St Gall’s needed some of their III’s team for their game immediately after this one.

In truth the concession of two soft goals in the first half was the downfall, which was in fact an exact replica of Naomh Brid’s last visit to the West Belfast venue last November.

Eunan Conway led the line against fellow veteran McGoran from St Gall’s and worked hard and contributed a fine point. A converted penalty and an easy goal left St Gall’s ahed by four but points from MacSherry, Owens, Quinn, and Jimmy King pulled it back to a minimum at half time.

Half Time Naomh Brid 0-6 St Galls 2-1

The second half saw a big improvement from the Malone men who despite conceding four unanswered points clawed their way back into the game to trail by one when Mel MacSherry found the net.

The Malone men played better in the second half but an improvement is needed if they are to stay in contention in this league.

St Gall’s scored three unanswered points to run out deserved winners.
