Seniors
ST. BRIGIDS TRAVELLED TO MAGHERAFELT TO PLAY KILLYCLOGHER
IN A DOUBLE BILL OF CHALLENGE GAMES
The seniors began well playing with the advantage of a slight breeze and were impressive from from the start matching their Tyrone opponents with in all
sectors. Despite the early setback of an ankle injury to midfielder Richard Smyth which saw the introduction of Chris Mooney, the Malone boys were picking up breaking ball through Duncan McAuley and Mark Sweeney and perhaps should have made better use of earlier ball into the fullfoward line where Ryan Brolly and Rory
O’Neill were creating space.
Mark Sweeney scored twice from play to cap an excellent first half from the
Knock schoolboy and further scores came from Rory O’Neill one from a free and one from play. Chris Mooney converted from close range to see a half time score of
Killyclogher 0:4 St. Brigid’s 0:5
The second half began brightly with the only goal scoring opportunity going a begging for Naomh Brid, However with Brian Meenan gaining the ascendancy for the Tyrone men in midfield and Leo Meenan tagging on a few scores, Killyclogher pulled away from St. Brigid’s in the last ten minutes. Second half scorers were Rory o‘Neill and Duncan McAuley.
The final score was Killyclogher 0:12 St. Brigids 0:7
Best for St. Brigids were Deaghlan O’Hagan, Barry McMahon and Benny Reilly
