By 7pm on Saturday night, 12/08/06, the well oiled machine that is Antrim GAA had one last kick for this Championship fixture. St Brigids arrived in Ballymena (not Cargin and not on Friday, Sunday or Monday), and prepared for a 7pm throw in as per most up to date communication to the club, the 7th different communication in fact. Dunloy however had other ideas, arriving for a 7.30 start. The ref thought it was 7, the teams agreed 7.15, Dunloy took the field at 7.20.

By 9pm it mattered not. After 60 minutes of play plus 9 of injury time the scoreboard read Dunloy 1 – 7, St Brigids 2 – 5.

Joe Brolly in the first half and Super sub, Chris McCann late in the second bagged the all important goals.

So its on the Quarter Final against …. no idea …. to be played on ???? in … probably … Cushendall or Ballycastle.

Full report to follow.
