The only real positive about this game was seeing John Mackle and his twin sons Ryan and Ciaran make their first appearances for the Divison 5 team. It’s a long way from the lofty heights of Sigerson Cups and All –Ireland Semi Finals in Croke Park to play under thunder and lightning in St Comgall’s Park Antrim in front of a couple of men and a dog. (The Antrim manager’s dog ran the line!) Anyway big John and his sons played the second half and Ryan was most unlucky to hit the post near the end.

Half Time Antrim 1-3 Naomh Brid 1-4

I told you there wasn’t much good to say.

Second half a bit better. When Paul O’Hara pointed a 45 the blues went one point up and should have built on that.

Gregory McGonigle operated at the middle (or should I say everywhere) for the second half.

Anyway we contrived to lose possession at the death and allowed Antrim to score a fine equalising point.

Like the school report. Could/should/must do better.

Yes Eunan is back

A point dropped. A penalty missed and we couldn’t beat 14 men!
