MOONEY HOTELS GROUP CHALLENGE CUP 2005
Taken from South Belfast News
Three of Belfast’s most go-ahead GAA clubs are to compete in a brand new competition aimed at developing Gaelic Football for all. Bredagh, St Brigid’s and St Enda’s have found that their normal League fixtures are not enough to satisfy the huge demand in their large squads, so they’ll play against each other at Under-16 level for the new Mooney Hotels Challenge Cup.
The aim of the competition is to ensure that every squad member gets plenty of football, regardless of their level of ability. Matches will be played over three 20-minute periods and one of the rules states that all players must be on the field for at least one of the entire periods.
The winners will receive a set of Gaelic Gear jerseys and there will be individual awards, as well as the new Cup itself.
Competition and individual winners to be announced later. Full details will be published.
